Piyush Goyal says Power Grid to restore three Delhi transmission lines
Power minister Piyush Goyal said state-owned Power Grid Corp of India Ltd has been asked to take up permanent restoration of three damaged lines in Delhi, which has been leading to prolonged power cuts in the national capital. After a meeting with members of Delhi's Legislative Assembly from Bhartiya Janata Party, Goyal said Power Grid Corp of India Ltd was directed to take up permanent restoration of 220kV Gopalpur-Mandola, Bamnauli-Papankalan and Bawana-Rohini transmission lines on behalf of Delhi Transco Ltd. In addition, the ministry has also sent notices to Delhi's power distribution companies who have worked the least to improve the transmission and distribution infrastructure in the city. "DISCOMs (distribution companies) are giving the report on their planned power outages every day, but the time taken to restore the feeder outages and other faults, especially in BSES areas needs to be addressed by the Distribution Utilities, under the supervision of Government of Delhi," an official statement said.
